Vishvakarma: The Divine Hand
In Verse
In realms where stars and gods are spun,
Where time begins and worlds are one,
There stands a maker, grand, divine,
Vishvakarma, whose hands design.
The forge of heaven, tools of gold,
In whispered legends, tales are told—
Of cities bright, of skies adorned,
Of palaces where gods are born.
Tvaṣṭā’s flame, an older fire,
First shaped the world, a forger’s pyre.
With hammer’s strike, with flame and form,
He birthed the storm, he carved the storm.
Yet from his heart of vengeful blaze,
He conjured darkened, twisted ways—
Vritra, serpent born of spite,
A demon born to challenge light.
But Indra’s hand, with lightning fast,
Did strike the beast and end the past,
With Vajra’s force, a weapon bright,
Crafted from bones of sacrifice.
Vishvakarma—now the name,
That carries forth this craftsman’s flame.
The heavens bend to his command,
As cities rise by his own hand.
Lanka’s gold, in shadows gleamed,
For Ravana’s dream, a demon’s scheme.
Dwarka’s towers kissed the sky,
Where Krishna ruled with wisdom’s eye.
Yet in his hands, the lines do blur,
For good and evil both occur.
The Pushpaka Vimana soared,
A chariot for gods once stored,
But in Ravana’s grip it flew,
Turning light to darkness, too.
A builder, yes, but more than that—
A weaver of the cosmic mat.
In creation’s dance, both dark and light,
His tools give life, his tools bring night.
For every weapon forged in fire,
Is born of death and great desire.
And every palace, grand and tall,
May one day face its final fall.
Sacrifice, the heart of all,
As Dadhichi’s bones did heed the call—
To shape the Vajra, weapon true,
From life to death, creation grew.
So now we honor, in his name,
The artisan who shaped the flame.
His hands have built the worlds we see,
A craftsman for eternity.
On Vishwakarma Jayanti, bright,
We bless our tools in sacred light.
For every spark, in his design,
Brings forth the work of the divine.
Vishvakarma, maker grand,
Shaper of both sea and land,
In every stroke, a universe,
In every line, a cosmic verse.
Happy Vishvakarma Jayanti
